For Delray's November First Friday, Start in Pineapple Grove

October 29, 2026

If you only have three hours on Friday, November 6, which gallery should get the first hour? Downtown Delray's First Friday Art Walk runs from 6 to 9 p.m. The Cornell Art Museum at Old School Square is the first stop that listing names. Three of the Cornell's shows will still be up when the January art walk comes around. The shows that close this month are a few blocks north, and two new places on NE 2nd Avenue now bookend the route.

This Friday, Pineapple Grove should come first because its shows close first. Go first to the art that closes soonest, eat or drink at the places that opened most recently, and leave the long-running shows for another month.

Which Shows Close First

Here's what's on the November walk, sorted by how long each show runs.

Venue Exhibition On view through
Arts Warehouse, 313 NE 3rd St Endings to Beginnings November 21, 2026
Arts Warehouse, 313 NE 3rd St Interstitial: FAU MFA Candidates Showcase November 28, 2026
Cornell Art Museum River of Grass January 24, 2027
Cornell Art Museum Blooming in Color! by Marleen De Waele–De Bock January 24, 2027
Cornell Art Museum Ron Garrett, Impressions & Expressions February 28, 2027

Both Arts Warehouse shows close before December's First Friday. Endings to Beginnings comes down on November 21 and has 11 artists in the Front Gallery, including Landis Carey, Dominique Denis, Lisa MacNamara, Ma Nong, Nickki Lewis-Parker, Marianela Perez, Lilian Ried, Renee Rey, Kelley Ryan, Andrea Sarcos and Kelsey Snyder. Interstitial is in the East Gallery through November 28. It features FAU MFA candidates Hye Young An, Sarah E. Huang, Raha Khosravi, Pinar Sinka, Jackson Grey Tucker and Anna Ruby Whitmire. Arts Warehouse's November First Friday listing says admission is free, with open studios and refreshments.

The Cornell shows run much longer. River of Grass and Blooming in Color! stay up until January 24, and Ron Garrett's show runs until February 28. The fourth Cornell show, Icons of Art: The Rockstar Collection, doesn't list a closing date on the museum's page. If you skip the Cornell on Friday, you still have at least two more First Fridays to see three of its four shows.

Two New Places on NE 2nd Avenue

The walk from the Arts Warehouse shows to the rest of the evening runs along NE 2nd Avenue. Two businesses opened there this fall.

Alma, 165 NE 2nd Ave. Alma replaced Table 165 at the same address and held its official ribbon cutting on October 5. The Palm Beaches' October 22 roundup calls it a relaunch of Table 165. Alma's own site describes modern American food with global influences and shareable dishes from Chef Coton Stine. Shareable plates suit an art walk, since a group can order a few dishes, finish in an hour and get back to the galleries before 9.

Preface Wine, 279 NE 2nd Ave. Boca Magazine reported on October 23 that founder Jonathan Frutkin's shop is part wine store, part wine bar. It becomes a bar at 4 p.m., and you can take bottles home or open them in the store. Labels can be scanned for details on a bottle before you buy it. The magazine also reported that Preface's in-house system, called JJ, remembers what you liked and can pick bottles for your next visit. Its grand-opening weekend ran October 22 through 25, according to Wine Industry Advisor. That makes November 6 the first art walk since it opened. Preface also plans themed tastings at its Owner's Table and offers tiered memberships with early event access and wine education sessions.

Preface opens as a bar at 4 p.m., two hours before the walk starts. That timing lets you stop there first or last, and on Friday it works better as the last stop.

A Route Built Around Closing Dates

This order puts the shows closing soonest first and leaves the open-ended stops for later.

  1. 6:00 p.m., Arts Warehouse. Start with Endings to Beginnings and Interstitial while the open studios are most active. Both shows close in November.
  2. Early evening, Arts Garage, 94 NE 2nd Ave. The Downtown Delray listing for the night names two exhibitions here, "Beyond the Frame" and "Sonder." Downtown Delray's Arts Garage page describes "Beyond the Frame" as a group show by Gallery 255 artists. Arts Garage's own gallery page lists different current shows, so check before you count on a particular piece. The building is also busy that night, since Whitney – Whitney Houston Tribute is on the Arts Garage calendar for November 6.
  3. Dinner, Alma. It's on the same avenue, between Arts Garage and Preface at 165 NE 2nd Ave.
  4. Last stop, Preface Wine. Have a glass at 279 NE 2nd Ave, or pick a bottle to take home.

If you want to add the Cornell, a short walk south at Old School Square, fit it in before Preface. Three of its shows will still be up in January.

Parking and Getting Home

On a busy First Friday, where you park matters more than it does on a weeknight. These options come from the Downtown Delray Beach parking pages:

  • Old School Square Garage, 95 NE 1st Ave. About 144 feet west of Arts Garage, $1.50 an hour, with free EV chargers.
  • Bankers Row, 200 NE 1st Ave. About 471 feet from Alma, $2 an hour, with a four-hour limit. On Fridays and Saturdays, enforcement runs from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Freebee. Downtown Delray describes it as a free golf-cart service between Atlantic Avenue and the beach. Freebee's Delray page lists service until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, for rides that start or end in its Inner Zone.

Since Bankers Row is enforced until 2 a.m. on Fridays, a long dinner can go past its four-hour limit. Old School Square Garage is the easier choice for a full evening.

Parking near Arts Warehouse may change down the road. The Delray Beach CRA's FY 2026–27 budget and work plan sets aside $1 million for parking improvements at 362 NE 3rd Avenue. That covers design and construction plans for a future parking structure plus interim improvements, and the plan gives no schedule for either.

The Rest of November on the Same Block

After the art walk, Arts Garage has a show almost every weekend this month. Here are some upcoming dates from its events calendar:

  • November 7: The Ladies of Simone
  • November 14: Dick Lowenthal's Big Band featuring Lisanne Lyons
  • November 15: Daniela Soledade presents "The Girl From Ipanema"
  • November 20: Jessy Díaz – The Journey of Cuban Music
  • November 21: Cary Hoffman – My Sinatra
  • November 28: Greggie & The Jets – A Tribute to Elton John

Arts Garage's main gallery, the Marshall Family Foundation Gallery, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. and during performances. If you miss the exhibitions on Friday, you can see them before a concert later in the month. The Arts Warehouse shows don't have that extra time. Endings to Beginnings closes November 21 and Interstitial closes November 28.

At Hall Luxury Homes Group, we keep track of how Pineapple Grove is changing block by block, from new openings on NE 2nd Avenue to the CRA's parking plans on NE 3rd. If you'd like to talk through what those changes mean for a condo near NE 2nd Avenue, Request a Concierge Consultation.
