On November 14, Savor Boca's Most Time-Sensitive Stops Are on NE 2nd Street

October 22, 2026

Poke Jay has been in the pale-pink strip south of Mizner Park for about eight years. In April, after the city approved a hotel for that block, owner Jirat "Jay" Suphrom-in told the Palm Beach Post that he wasn't too worried. "If anything is going to happen, it won't happen today or tomorrow," he said. When the time comes, he plans to reopen in Boca Raton or somewhere nearby.

On Saturday, November 14, Poke Jay will stamp passports as one of 16 stops on the Rotary Club of Boca Raton's Savor Boca Experience. Three of its plaza neighbors are on the list too. Those four NE 2nd Street stops sit on a lot the city has approved for redevelopment, though no construction start date had been announced as of the Post's April report.

Four Stops on a Lot With Approved Plans

Local news coverage refers to Mizner Plaza as the "pink plaza." On March 23, Boca Raton's Community Redevelopment Agency board voted 4-1 to approve a 12-story, 219-room hotel on the site, directly south of Mizner Park, according to the Sun Sentinel. The Palm Beach Post reported that the plan spreads the rooms across two towers. It also includes a parking structure and 30,804 square feet of restaurant and retail space on the first, second and 12th floors. The U.S. Postal Service building just east of the plaza would come down as well.

The owner is Investments Limited, which has held the 1.65-acre lot for years. Co-founder Marta Batmasian told the Post the company plans to help tenants relocate nearby in a "gentle and slow" manner. She said the project took nearly three years to get through city approval. In the Post's April 2 report, no construction start date had been set. Permits still had to come before any demolition, and the post office had no official relocation plan.

So the plaza is approved for replacement, has no published start date, and its tenants are still open. All four food tenants made the Savor Boca lineup that the Boca Raton Observer published on October 14. Here are the four, with addresses from the Observer's listings:

  • Ramen Lab Eatery, 100 NE 2nd St
  • Poke Jay, 110 NE 2nd St
  • Pzza &, 126 NE 2nd St
  • Savia, 130 NE 2nd St

Savia has the most unusual story of the four. The Sun Sentinel reported that chef David "Vito" Quaderno opened the Sicilian restaurant in the space that used to be Boca Skewers. The paper said he builds the menu around imported Sicilian ingredients and has said he once cooked for Pope Francis. According to the Sun Sentinel, Ramen Lab Eatery and 2nd Street Bagels and Deli are among the businesses that will need new homes once the project moves ahead.

How the Afternoon Is Built

The format makes it easy to work the plaza into your route. Check-in opens at 1 p.m. at the middle median in Mizner Park. That's where you pick up a culinary passport, a swag bag and a raffle ticket. Tastings run from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. At each stop you get a featured bite and a drink the restaurant picks, and you can visit the stops in any order.

Tickets are $65 per person or $100 for two. Each ticket covers 16 tastings, 16 drinks and entry to the after-party. All ages are welcome. Guests 21 and over get a wristband for the alcoholic drinks, and younger guests get a non-alcoholic wristband. The after-party runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Serena Pastificio, 301 Plaza Real. It's included with every ticket and features a silent auction and the raffle, with proceeds going to the Rotary Club of Boca Raton. The club was founded in 1957 and reports more than 600 scholarships and $3.5 million in scholarship support.

Parking has one odd detail. The plaza is on the tasting route, but the event FAQ asks guests not to park in the Mizner Plaza lot. That lot is reserved for tenants and their customers, and cars may be towed. Use the Mizner Park garages or street parking downtown. Walking between stops is encouraged, and rideshare is allowed.

This is the event's second year. Boca Post reported that the 2025 edition was a two-part centennial event in December, built around a scavenger hunt and a tasting tour.

A Route With the Plaza in the Middle

The event says all 16 stops are within a few blocks of Mizner Park. They fall into three loose groups, and the pink plaza sits right between the other two. One order that fits the three-hour window and ends near the after-party:

  1. Start on Plaza Real after check-in. Kapow Noodle Bar at 402 Plaza Real, Pure Green at 324, Spirits and Spice at 314, and American Social Bar & Kitchen at 351 W Plaza Real, Ste 315. Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar also lists a Mizner Park address in the Observer's listings.
  2. Cross to NE 2nd Street mid-afternoon. Ramen Lab Eatery, Poke Jay, Pzza & and Savia, all on the same short strip.
  3. Continue south and east into downtown. AJ's Italian Deli at 151 E Palmetto Park Rd, Belladuke's at 155 E Boca Raton Rd, Corvina Seafood Grill at 110 Plaza Real S, La Mesa Café Bistro at 48 NE 1st Ave #B, and Just Baked at 80 N Federal Hwy.
  4. Come back north for Talkin' Tacos, across from Mizner Park at 493 N Federal Hwy. Then finish at Serena Pastificio by 4:30.

Putting the plaza in the middle leaves its four stops a cushion. If the Plaza Real stops take longer than planned, you can trim the downtown leg instead of skipping NE 2nd Street.

The Rest of the Lineup, Old and New

The stops around the plaza show how much downtown keeps adding while the plaza waits on its approved replacement. Talkin' Tacos is the newest name on the list. The Observer reported a June 5, 2026 grand opening for the 1,750-square-foot restaurant. It serves halal Mexican street food, including birria ramen, and stays open until 2 a.m.

Kapow Noodle Bar has been in Mizner Park since 2011. In September 2022 it moved into a 5,175-square-foot space with an omakase bar, a covered patio and three private karaoke rooms. Belladuke's opened in March 2023 as a gourmet market and coffee bar with rotating menus, charcuterie and grab-and-go meals, according to the Sun Sentinel. Spirits & Spice describes its Mizner Park shop as a tasting room for curated spirits, rare whiskies, tequilas, wines and artisanal foods. Serena Pastificio, host of the after-party, is on the first floor of the IPIC Theaters building.

The Observer says the bites across the route include ceviche, tacos, poke bowls and cookies, served alongside specialty cocktails, wine and coffee.

The Same Two Weeks Downtown

Savor Boca isn't the only thing on downtown's calendar in early November, and two of these events are within walking distance of the same blocks:

  • Thursday, November 5, 6 to 9 p.m. The city's Night Market returns to Sanborn Square, 72 N Federal Hwy, with food vendors, local artists and makers, and music. BocaConnect gives free rides to and from the market through the Circuit app. A holiday-themed edition follows on December 10.
  • Wednesday, November 11, 4 to 7 p.m. Red, White & Boca brings a veterans marketplace, a classic-car show, food vendors and performances by The Coastman Chorus and Belladiva to Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real.
  • Any morning, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parlor Doughnuts, the layered-doughnut shop that the Palm Beach Post reported would open its first Palm Beach County location on September 26, lists 9 Plaza Real South, Suite 108, with daily hours on its shop page.

Parlor Doughnuts and Talkin' Tacos opened within blocks of NE 2nd Street this year. The four plaza tenants on the Savor Boca list are still serving on a lot approved for a 219-room hotel, and the Post's April report said construction had no start date. For now, Ramen Lab, Poke Jay, Pzza & and Savia are open and on the route on November 14.
